Can't install Lightroom 6 - OS version mis-identified

I am trying to install a purchased version of Lightroom 6. The installation wizard thinks I have Windows Vista and won't let it go any further. But I actually have Windows 7 / SP 1. Windows Vista was never installed on this system. How do I get around this error?
