Can't load Photoshop 5.0 with WIN 10 OS

Question

I have Photoshop 5.0 and downloaded it successfully when using WIN XP and WIN 8.   Now I've upgraded to a new SSD with WIN 10 and when I try to load Photoshop it doesn't start either as autoload or clicking on the exe file.  It did some kind of compatibility check and said would simulate a WIN XP OS  However I still can't get the application to load.  Any thoughts and solutions?

John,I tried the compatibility option and it seemed to offer WIN XP for compatibility. The first time it didn't seem to load but when I reclicked, it finally went and installed. Thank you for your help.

-also, only CURRENT products will be tested and updated for compatibility with Windows 10

-so if you have an older program, you update to Windows 10 at YOUR risk of problems

An idea that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10... works for some, not for others
