Question

Can't reinstall CS5.5 on new hard drive (failed to initialize)?

My hard drive crashed last month and, after replacing it, I have tried to download/reinstall Creative Suite 5.5 on my computer 4 times. Each time I receive an error message first saying "invalid checksums" before telling me that the "installer failed to initialize." It also suggested I download the Adobe Support Advisor that your site says has been discontinued. I just want to reinstall the programs for which I have already paid. Why does the finished download file size read 2.9GB when the site says 2.5? How can I remedy this issue? Thank you! (OSX 10.6.8, Macbook Pro 2008).

I've been attempting to reinstall (from original discs/original serial numbers) CS5 on MacBook Pro to no avail.  When the hard drive crashed on my old, but still handy, MacBook Pro, I replaced it for the sole purpose of using my old CS5 applications. . Help! I'm not a tech type -- do I need to take it somewhere (where?) to make this happen? of so, what would be a reasonable fee? Please help!

These suggestions have not worked. I receive the same error message regardless of the website from which I download CS5.5. Please advise me on how to obtain a genuine copy of this product that will actually install as expected.

Have you tried using a different browser to download?

I just downloaded CS5.5 from those links successfully.
