Can't update Lightroom 4 & can't import raw files from Canon 5 D Mark 3 with my current lightroom 4
I have Lightroom 4 and haven't had any major issues with it for years. Recently I've started shooting with a Canon 5D Mark 3, rather than the 5D mark 2 I've used for the most part. Lightroom says it doesn't recognize the camera the images were shot on now, so I can't import files.
I haven't updated lightroom in a while because the program never prompts me to do so (maybe that's a different, second issue in my settings?). I believe updating Lightroom ought to fix this issue, and allow me to import raw files from the newer Mark 3 camera.
When I check for updates from within Lightroom, or search for updates for Lightroom 4 on the adobe website, I'm brought to the same page, yet when I click on 'download' nothing happens, no downloads start. Is it necessary to purchase a new lightroom just to be able to use Mark 3 raw files on it?
Is there someone that can point me in the right direction of how to actually update my lightroom 4 so it's compatible with raw image files from the Mark 3?
This seems crazy, and I am super frustrated after going in circles on the adobe website. Thanks!
