Can't update my XD

Hi!

Adobe Creative Cloud app is taking up a lot of space on my computer storage.

I am trying to update my Adobe XD app, but it requires the newest software, which is not possible to install because I don’t have enough space on my computer as the Adobe Creative Cloud app is taking 51KB from my storage. I deleted everything else from my computer that was taking up a lot of space and only the Adobe Apps and the Adobe Creative Cloud apps remained which have big sizes. I need to free up at least 18KG to update my software to the newest version. I am really desperate at this point, as I really don’t know what else to do...

Here are some helpful details:

- I am using a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) with macOS Mojave Version 10.14.6

-My software is not up to date, and I can’t update my software because of the storage problem

-Not sure which version of the Creative Cloud desktop app I have. But all my apps are not up to date as I can’t update them to the new version because of the old software on my computer. (the latest software is required for the updates)

-What I've tried so far: I deleted all my files from the adobe apps and I permanently deleted them as well. My files were synced, but now I paused the syncing. Still, nothing changed...

- No third-party anti-virus software.

Thank you in advance for your answer!

-Diana

Ah, I see. 19KB is the size of one folder CALLED Creatrive Cloud. That doesn't mean you have found and counted all the files used by Creative Cloud. We can see you haven't deleted it because you can still look at the synching page - which is part of Creative Cloud! You need to get on top of space. And DO NOT RANDOMLY DELETE FILES - you can end up in a situation that can only be recovered by wiping the machine and starting again. We may be able to point you in the right direction from a screen shot showing the STORAGE tab under ABOUT THIS MAC.

You are right, I just realized that the Creative Cloud is not the problem actually. I confused KB with GB for some reason, sorry for that.

The Adobe Apps are taking up a lot of space, but also the system is using a lot of storage...

Here is the storage screenshot:

You could move the MACOS installer to an external drive that would give you a big space boost. In addition to that see if you can delete some apps. Some things you can look to reclaim space are

  • Delete iPad and iPhone backups
  • Removing temporary cache files
  • Removing extra language files

You can do a search and find steps on how to clear these and also find other items to look into

Ok your screenshots do not show anything related to Adobe is taking too much space KB is very small amout and also your cloud storage is quite small. So you will need to look up what actually is taking up space on your computer. With respect to Adobe, you can launch Creative Cloud Desktop App and check what applications are installed on your MAC. If you have multiple version of the same app installed, you can uninstall the version you don't need. Then you can also check other files and programs on your computer that can be moved over to an external drive.

The reason you are not able to install is that you need to upgrade your MAC OS, So after you free up space by uninstalling non required apps, moving files over to external drives etc update your MAC and then you should be able to update your Adobe apps as well.

You just deleted the apps? You could have made a big problem for yourself, as they should be uninstalled. As well, there will be a lot of info you did not delete, and programs still running.

You write "Adobe Creative Cloud app is taking 51KB" - that doesn't sound right. 51KB is one small email.

@Test Screen Name I checked on my MAC and 51KB is the size you get when you check info of the folder that contains the Creative Cloud Desktop app. So @Diana2650574527ne is seeing it correct but at the wrong place, as the size of this folder would be constant always.
