Question

Can't upgrade InDesign

My InDesign CC 2019 Control panel is empty and I read that I should upgrade from 14.0 to 14.0.1. I cannot do that; Creative Cloud app page is "not available" and hasn't been all day. That's one problem, but I cannot assume I can use CC if/when it does work, as I could not use it to upgrade from 2015 to '19 a couple weeks ago; older versions no longer are available.

Trying to be mellow and diplomatic here but am really perturbed. Please help -- mostly with the answer to the upgrade question/issue. Thanks.

in general, you can get a link for older versions from adobe support.  but cc 2019 has public links as mentioned above, All the New Adobe CC 2019 Direct Download Links, Now Available! | ProDesignTools

for other versions, using a browser that allows popups and cookies, contact adobe support by clicking here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam.

Thank you both for the tips. I did get the software from ProDesignTools, and it is, as Manan said, just the base version. I'll try on Monday to chat with a human @ Adobe.

This isn't how I'd run one of the largest software companies on the planet but then I instinctively would want to serve customers before shareholders.

you're welcome.

p.s. if you have an id cc 2019 version installed, open id > click help > click update to see if you're offered the last cc 2019 version.

Hi @Mike Diehl,

Only the latest two versions of the Creative Cloud apps are supported and available for download. So the versions that you can download/update via Creative Cloud App would be CC2022 and CC2021. You can try and download the 2019 or other older versions of the Creative Cloud apps from the following website. If the links mentioned on the website don't work, then it means that Adobe has discontinued providing the download and genuine installers are not available anymore. Be circumspect if someone contacts you claiming to provide an installer in such a case.
https://prodesigntools.com

P.S.:- Do note that the installers provided here would be the base major version and after its installation you may not revieve minor updates to that version.
