Can you download Adobe After Effects on the same computer as many times as you want?

Can you download Adobe After Effects on the same computer as many times as you want? I'm just thinking of when I do a routine re-boot once in a while and have to re-install all of my programs.

Also, I've heard that you're limited to downloading After Effects on only 2 computers. Does this rule apply for all the older versions of After Effects or is it just limited to CC and CS6?

Thank you.

I reboot my computer about once a week and nothing ever goes missing

Do you mean a REFORMAT of your drive?

If you mean reformat, simply DE-activate before you start so your activation count goes down by one, to then allow installing and activating

Also of note - if you have logged into two computers already, you have the option of forcing the others to sign out to make room for you to sign in.  When you launch the software, the Adobe license manager will pop up and say you already have two machines signed in, and you will be given the option to try again if you have signed out of one of the other ones, or to sign you out on the other computers/devices.  I do this quite frequently since I am hopping between several machines between my studio, home, and a laptop with one license.

You can download and install on as many computers as you have but you are limited to only having two of the installations activated.  If you need to you could deactivate on one to open an activation for use on another.

    Thanks for your help guys.

Dave - Pardon my ignorance, but I don't believe I've ever made a disk image of my System Disk, nor do I know how... unless that's the same thing as doing as System Restore?

John - I moronically thought that a re-boot and a re-installation were the same thing. I guess I'm not completely sure what a re-boot is either. I was talking about popping in the install disc and making a fresh install... but this would be something I'd do maybe once a year.

It's good to hear that I can install on multiple computers as long as I only have up to 2 at a time activated. I also wondered about if my computer were to crash, if I'd have to go to the trouble of re-purchasing After Effects... if I did have a computer that After Effects was activated on, how would I deactivate it if the computer I wanted to deactivate it on was totally inoperable?

I'm stuck between purchasing After Effects CS6 off of eBay for a hefty price, or doing the $19.99 for 12 months plan on Amazon. If I wanted to install it on a different computer with a physical disc (which is what's on eBay) then I'd just use the installation disc, but if I were to download it digitally and wanted to download it onto another computer would I basically be downloading the trial version off Adobe's website, then entering the activation code that they give me?

    Yeah, total newb here... lol.

In the event you lose the ability to deactivate you can contact Adobe Support thru chat and request that they reset all activations.

Purchasing anything off of ebay should come with a "buyer beware" sticker.

Why don't you just make a disk image of your System Disk -- or two -- and squirrel them away for a rainy day?

And yes, I'm pretty darn sure the 2-instance rule for AE installs still applies.
