can you run Adobe CS2 from a USB Stick only? I have an old XP laptop ith very limited storage. I can transport CS2 from my work PC. Is it possible or do I need to create files/registries etc on C drive?

FYI for anyone else running outdated equipment I solved my own problem(hopefully)

    Extraction instructions

If you are receiving a message to insert disc two please see the following extraction instructions:

In the English version of the software the file CreativeSuiteCS2Disc2 extracts to C:\Creative Suite\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\.  CreativeSuiteCS2Disc1 and CreativeSuiteCS2Disc3 both extract to C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\.

Please copy the contents of the C:\Creative Suite\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\ folder to the C:\Creative Suite CS2\Adobe Creative Suite 2.0\ folder and you will no longer be prompted to insert disc two.

If I load the programs onto flash drive and then install on my laptop will the registries be broken?

If you are asking if you can copy from one machine to another, Adobe software will not work that way.  The software needs to be installed using installation files.  Those files and the serial number needed for them can be found at the second link I provided

You need to acquire a special version of CS2 due to the activation server for it being shut down... and as John mentions, the software needs to be installed... it is not a portable suite.

As far as I know, Windows programs will not install to a removable drive

When you install a Windows program special entries are made in the Windows Registry, which will become broken when you remove the drive
