Hi,

I've purchased Lightroom 6 (retail DVD) and have been using it for almost half a year alongside the Creative Cloud Desktop App that you must have in order to use Lightroom. But in the last few days the Creative Cloud Desktop App has been failing to connect to the server so I uninstalled it and did the whole clean up with the Adobe Clean Up Tool. I tried downloading it again but the progress bar will just sit at around 2% and eventually error 207 will pop up.

I then uninstalled all my Adobe software (including Acrobat Reader DC) and ran the Clean Up Tool again. This time even Acrobat fails to download. So I went about downloading the full installation files and have successfully reinstalled everything, however Lightroom will not validate. I get the "Unable to Validate Serial Number" and I can't log in to Creative Cloud either. I tried the Adobe Access Repair Tool as well but it came back with no files to repair. I've also gone through the steps of Advanced solutions to connection errors with Adobe Creative Cloud and Creative Suite applications  and everything seems to be fine. I spent the whole day looking through the forums and even searching for solutions on Google but I'm not having much luck. The last thing I want to do right now is Format my hard drive and do a clean install of everything.

I do suspect one thing that may have caused this. I have a software installed called CCleaner, it's a disk cleaner program that also has a registry cleaner function (which basically removes any registry it deems to be unused). I haven't had problems with any other software but it seems to affect Adobe products. I had a similar problem a few months back when Creative Cloud would not connect so I did the whole uninstall and used the Adobe Clean Up Tool, reinstalled and it solved the problem but this time nothing seems to be working.

The machine I'm on is a Asus K501UX K501UX | Notebooks | ASUS New Zealand  with the Core i7 6500U, upgraded to 12GB ram and a 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD

running on Windows 10 Pro. OS and all software are installed on the SSD

Hope that's enough info!

Thanks in Advance
