Cannot Install Illustrator CS2 on Mac OSX Yosemite

I am unable to install Adobe Illustrator CS2 on my mac (OX Yosemite 10.10.3) as it is giving the error "Installation onto non HFS drive is not supported." However, the drive I am installing it to is HFS+ and should be able to support this. I confirmed in Disk Utility that the format is  Mac OS Extended (Journaled), which is HFS+. I also ran Verify Disk and Repair Disk in Disk Utility but both showed that the volume appeared to be OK and I still could not install Illustrator.

Has anyone found a workaround for this issue? I saw some old, locked threads about this but they did not offer an answer for my issue.

CS2 cannot be installed on OS X Yosemite at all regardless of the format of your hard drive.

CS2 is a PowerPC application designed for old PowerPC-processor based Macs.

Today's Macs have Intel processors which cannot run PowerPC apps without the Rosetta utility previously made available by Apple. OS X has not supported Rosetta since OS X 10.7 "Lion" so today's Macs cannot run PowerPC apps such as CS2.
