Cannot install Lightroom 5 on Mac

Even though it says it has installed LR 5 it is NOWHERE to be seen.

As in nowhere.

Little help?

    McKnight777 which version of Mac OS are you using?  Have you checked the Applications folder to see if it is listed there?  If so then please also check to see if the uninstaller is available in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.

    Finally if you have a Creative Cloud membership I would also recommend reviewing Creative Cloud AAM lists Applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

    I am using 10.8.5

    I double click the dmg to install.

    It goes through the whole install set of questions.

    It says download successful!

    What it has done is put a Lightroom 5.2 ALIAS in my apps folder which redirects it to a Lightroom 5.2 disk image which is NOW on my desktop.

    Wow. Impressive.

    This happens on my MacBook Pro and my iMac, both running 10.8.5.

    Do you also still have a Photoshop Lightroom 5 application in your applications folder?  If so what version does the Finder indicate it is?
