Cannot install LR Classic on new Macbook or export images from LR online either

Ok i am officially going nuts here! The whole sign up and registering thing was always a mess with Adobe but now they seem to really focus on driving people insane.

for 1,5h now i try to install LR Classic and seems impossible.

i changed my password 4 times now and when i put it in it always get rejected.

in deep despair i went to LR online and did some work there but it seems impossible to actually expert from there to anywhere. why then use it??

i need the get some pics worked on and just nothing works.

probably i am too stupid but if after close to 2h i am incapable of getting anything done, it seems the installation process and the whole LR online workflow is not really userfriendly at all.

maybe someone here can enlighten me?

cheers!

Anton

"...is there a way to move the pics i have on the online LR now over to library of real LR (-Classic)?..."

Yes. Simply open Lr-Classic and turn on 'Sync' in the Cloud icon. All your CLoud files will automatically download to the Classic Catalog and store the image files on local hard-drives.

BEFORE you sync- Set the FOLDER location for the downloaded files in Preferences / Lightroom Sync. (Read down the page in the link below!)

See the help for Sync Set up here-

SYNC SETUP IN CLASSIC

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

When you are installing or updating on a Mac, that is your Mac asking you to prove that you have permission by asking for your COMPUTER password, not your Adobe password

Hello John,

thanx a lot. cannot believe i wasted 2h of my life on this. But i really did not realize they were asking for my mac password.

not it is installing. but i still think Adobe is terrible when it comes to their user friendliness.

But at least now it is running.

btw: is there a way to move the pics i have on the online LR now over to library of real LR?

cheers!

The dialogue box you have been struggling with is actually an Apple thing. It appears whenever you install apps on your Mac.

As @John T Smith says, it's your macOS operating system asking for admin permission to install files on your local hard drive. It's Apple's equivalent of User Account Control in Windows.

Unfortunately the design of the Apple dialogue box (particularly the appearance of the Adobe logo) seems to mislead some people into mistakenly believing it's Adobe asking for your Adobe ID and password.

We see regular reports from frustrated Mac users about this issue in these forums.
