Cannot Update Creative Cloud macOS Monterey

Hello,

My Creative Cloud app says that I need an administrator password to update the app. I am the admin on my computer and I tried creating a new account with admin rights with no luck. The error code is 1004

I have also tried:

  • Trashing the preferences
  • Running the CC unintsaller (doesn't launch)
  • Running the new installer from the disk image (doesn't launch)
  • Command/Option/R to reset the updater

Is this a known issue? I am stumped...

Thanks

Have you tried the CC Cleaner tool to uninstall/reinstall? https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

So you are entering your Mac password to prove to your Mac that you have install permission?

Yes. I open the Creative Cloud app and it says an update is available so I start the update. The update progress bar gets to 2% and a prompt pops up to enter my adminstrator password. After I enter my password, the update immediately fails and says I need an administrator password even though it is the admin password. I created a new user with admin rights and a different password as well with the same result.
