Cannot update to Lightroom Classic CC 8

I currently use Lightroom Classic CC v7.3 and need to update to the latest v8 to edit the RAW files on my newest camera. For some reason, I can update all my other apps except this one. When I go to the "Help" tab the option "updates..." is greyed out. When I go to the Adobe Creative Cloud app, it says that LR is up to date. I'm using a MacBook Pro 15" (2015) though I don't think this is the problem.
