CC 2015 License

I purchased a license for CC 2015 for Mac over 2 yrs ago, and all of a sudden I can't access my programs because Adobe is telling me I need to pick a subscription plan. Why did this happen? I didn't upgrade.

Correct answer Nancy OShea

CC 2015 is a subscription you get direct from Adobe. You set up an an account and provide a means of paying for it and sign in. That's how it's activated. There are no serial numbers to input. You download their programs direct from the CC app that they provide.

I don't know what was on that USB stick, but it is not Adobe's and that's why they cut it off as soon as they found out.

Also we are volunteer support and have no say in licensing and activation.

You'll have to Contact Customer Care if you honestly believe you are in the right and ask them to make good on that USB stick.

If this is legitimate,  both the license transferor (original owner) and the recipient (new owner) would have had to complete a Transfer of License form.  And both forms would have been submitted to Adobe before the license was transferred.  If that never happened, there's not much Customer Care can do with this.

Aha! That can happen if you run a trial of Creative Cloud or any of the newer apps. The new license takes over.

What is the actual version you have of Creative Suite (CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3, CS2, CS)?

CC2015 was a subscription. After CS6 no product has been sold, only subscriptions. So, if you had 2015 you had a subscription.

Well, when i purchased the license from someone, it came to me on a USB, which I still have, and with the license code, which I also still have. I've been using the programs for over 2 years without any issues, and now all of a sudden I can't use them anymore. Strange.

Sounds like an old Creative Suite not Creative Cloud version.  When you buy software from untrusted sources, you never know exactly what you're getting.  Hopefully it didn't infect your computer with malware.
