CC 2018 back to 2017 - After Effects & AME

Hey folks,

Does anyone know how to, or if it's possible to, 'roll-back' to the last version of CC. I'm most interested in reinstating After Effects CC 2017 and Adobe Media Encoder CC 2017.  I accidentally updated earlier on and now all sorts of things aren't happening. Not only that but I work with others who all still use 2017in a busy, complicated environment. This is a nightmare right now....

Anyone have any ideas?!?

Thanks.

uninstall the newer unwanted versions (Uninstall or remove Creative Cloud apps ).

install the wanted versions using the cc desktop app (or if unavailable, still):

Single user licensee downloadable installation files available:

  • Download and installation help for Adobe links

  • Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

And a big thank you to Jim @ Prodesigntools for helping me with these links!

update by downloading the files directly and then applying them:

pre cc updates:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

cc updates:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-updates-direct-links-windows.html

cc 2104 updates:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2014-updates-links-windows.html

cc 2015 updates: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2015-updates-links-windows.html

it will uninstall it but you can choose the advanced options and prevent that for major version updates like 2017 to 2018.

Go to your HD applications and uninstall all of the 2018 apps and then go to your Creative Cloud App and go the the App List and the app that you need lets say illustrator click the right round box and the far right v arrow and select other version and select the 2017 and say install. Do for each one that you need the 2017 version.
