Question

CC apps incredibly slow to start up

I have noticed that all my CC apps really start very slow. It takes Photoshop and Illustrator and Indesign (my most freq. used apps) more than a minute to go from double click to document window. I have switched off the new 'enhanced' document window because that also is tremendously slow (takes more than twenty seconds to even appear when creating a new doc...

Now I have a 2 x 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon Mac with OS X 10.12.3 and a 1Tb SSD drive, but still the software is so very slow to boot.

They all seem to almost freeze when loading their (Adobe) plug-ins and UI files...

Is there anything I can do to get a more snappy boot?

Albert

Hi wastedpixels,

I understand that you are facing slowness with your CC apps. You may try resetting the preferences in your apps.

Illustrator:  http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html

Indesign:  https://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990

Photoshop:  https://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776

Also please check and ensure that your machine meets the minimum system requirement for CC 2017 apps System requirements | Adobe Creative Cloud

If you still face the same issue, you may try to refer the below link.

Could you expand on your answer?  Which preferences would I need to set to improve the loading speed of the apps?
