CC has the same device logged in twice -- can't open software!

Every time I open adobe on my pc, Adobe says two devices are logged in under the same name, exceeding the limit and that I have to remove either my "macbook",  "Desktop2ML5ESE", or "this device" which refers to the same desktop. If I select log out of the "desktop" it says I've sucessfully freed up space and then shuts down as if it closed itself.

This happened shortly after I updated after effects today.

This is infuriating, what am I supposed to do? I'm paying enough for the 2 devices I have, I need to use them both in order to do my work.
