Question

CC2022 extremely slow - can I run software from external drive?

Somewhere on here there was a post about moving the software to an external drive and running it from there to solve the problem but I cannot find it now! I cannot afford a new computer so this was the only other option. The software runs painfully slow, almost unusable, and I have work to get done. Please advise!

As far as I know it isn't allowed to install Adobe's application on an external drive.

From my point of view it doesn't make any sense either. Because the data transfer with the external drive is slower than with the internal drives.

If the software runs slow on your system you have to upgrade your hardware.

Please post which hardware and operating system do you use.

    My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 5 - Topaz Photo

    Hi Sandra,

We're sorry for the trouble. Which Adobe software are you using? We'd love to guide you to the product specific community where you can get guidance for optimizing the system's performance.

I'm using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. Before the upgrades I could have 3 programs open at the same time and now I struggle using one at a time.

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Download and Install forum so that proper help can be offered.
