Changing country on Adobe.com account
Hello.
I'm trying to upgrade from Lightroom 2.7 to Lightroom 4, but I can't complete my purchase because the country associated with my Adobe ID is not the same as the country associated with my Credit Card. I had a rather unproductive chat with customer services... abridged version follows:
info: Thank you for choosing Adobe. A representative will be with you shortly. Your estimated wait time is 0 minute(s) and 1 second(s) or longer as there are 1 customer(s) in line ahead of you.
info: You are now chatting with Amit.
Amit: Hello! Welcome to Adobe Customer Service.
Amit: May I please have your email address registered with Adobe while I review your request?
Amit: THank you
Amit: As I understand you want to edit you account details ,IS that correct ?
Me: Correct
Amit: email@address.com is this an email in which you want to edit
Me: I don't want to edit the email address: I want to change the country from United Kingdom to Czech Republic.
Me: I now live in the Czech Republic.
Amit: It can not change I am sorry
Amit: Are we still connected ?
Me: It seems that it can be changed by Adobe customer support.
Amit: No only Country can not change
Me: When I click 'Change' next to the country it comes up with a box saying "If you have moved to a different country than what is currently listed on your Adobe account, please contact customer support to change it."
Amit: Please provide me that link \
Me: It's a tool tip box in the checkout process.
Me: Can I send a screenshot to you?
Amit: Please provide me the link
Amit: At the top of the web page link it there
Me: It's just a link to the checkout process, but here it is: https://store2.adobe.com/uk/cart/checkout.html#
Amit: Thank you
Amit: I am sorry we can not change the country
Me: If you cannot change the country then I cannot buy Adobe products.
Amit: I am sorry
Amit: But I can not change the country
Me: OK. Thank you. Goodbye
Amit: Is there anything else I can help you with?
info: Your chat transcript will be sent to email@address.com at the end of your chat.
In addition to the tool tip in the checkout process threads elsewhere in the forums (e.g. here) suggest that it is possible for Adobe to change this. It seems improbable to me that Adobe requires me to create a separate email account in order to open a new Adobe account in order to buy an upgrade as punishment for moving countries in the meantime
Any ideas how I can resolve this?
