There use to be a button in the Creative Cloud App for desktop to check if new updates are available. That button seems to have disappeared.

How can I check if new updates are available?

That's not the button that disappeared; to get it I had to click "Help" and "check for updates".

if you have notify when updates are available enabled, it appears automatically.

You can use the Help > Check for Updates menu to force-check for updates. But in general, the available updates appear automatically in the Apps tab and its various sections.

When I start CC for the first time each day, updates don't usually appear, but if I then click "check for updates," they appear, especially for Photoshop Beta.
