Cloud updated to Photoshop CC 2019, now I have to buy it??

Cloud updated Photoshop CC 2018 to 2019, and uninstalled 2018. Now, when I open 2019 I have the option to either purchase it (??) or start a free trial? What is happening? Is there any way I can in the future NOT have Cloud automatically uninstall my older program? Thanks everyone in advance for any advice you may have!
