Commercial use (?)

Hi,

I am considering buying a liscence right now to work on an ongoing project of mine which would be a board game.

I would like to know if it is necessary to have a commercial liscence to publish or profit from the results of the use of the Adobe programs.

All licenses permit commercial use, including Student versions. Didn't use to be that way but Adobe changed the license a few years ago. Probably too hard to police and the different license conditions confused everyone - including Adobe at times.

Go ahead and make your board game. Good luck with it.

Side question, I am not a student myself, but my wife, with whom I would share the licence with, is a student herself. Again going with the assumption that I want to publish and perhaps even profit from the use of the licence, are there legal issues with someone who isn't a student sharing a student licence to publish and/or profit from the use of the licence?

You cannot share a license. They are licensed to individuals and tied to their Adobe ID.

The two activations allowance in the license is for the individual to whom they are licensed, not for sharing. You have to be eligible to use a student license.

Also, one of the conditions is that two copies of the same activated software cannot be in use at the same time. Again, that precludes a sharing scenario.
