Complaint Regarding the Removal of Standalone Adobe App Installers

Dear Adobe Customer Support,

I'm writing to express my frustration with Adobe's current approach to distributing Creative Cloud applications and the lack of accessible standalone installers for individual customers.

I have purchased Adobe applications, including Photoshop, and I may purchase additional applications such as Illustrator and Premiere Pro. I want to be able to download and retain the actual installer packages for the versions available today, so I can archive them for future use.

In the past, Creative Cloud made it much easier to access and install previous versions of applications. I remember being able to download versions through the Creative Cloud interface, and I want to preserve those releases rather than depend entirely on Adobe's servers and whatever versions Adobe chooses to make available in the future.

Today, however, the normal download process directs customers toward Creative Cloud installation, subscriptions, and trial offers, without making standalone installer packages readily accessible to individual customers. Adobe's Admin Console is not available to my personal account, leaving me without an obvious official way to obtain these packages.

This is particularly frustrating because I am not asking for free software, a way to bypass licensing, or permission to use applications I haven't purchased. I simply want to preserve the installation files for software I have legitimately paid for.

There are valid reasons to archive installers: preserving access to specific versions, maintaining compatibility with existing projects, recovering from hardware failures, and retaining software for future installations. Customers should not have to rely indefinitely on the continued availability of downloads from Adobe's servers.

The current situation has pushed me toward unofficial third-party tools just to obtain installer packages. I would much rather download these files directly from Adobe, with confidence that they are authentic, complete, and appropriate for my Mac.

I ask Adobe to consider providing individual customers with:

Official standalone macOS installer packages for purchased applications.
A straightforward way to download and archive specific application versions.
Clear documentation explaining which versions are available and which installers customers are permitted to retain.
Continued access to previously released installers, subject to legitimate licensing and activation requirements.

I understand that applications may still require an eligible license or online activation. My request is not to circumvent those requirements, but to have access to the installation files themselves.

Please explain what official options are available to individual customers who want to archive their purchased applications, and please pass this feedback to the team responsible for Creative Cloud's download and distribution policies.

I would appreciate a substantive response addressing this specific issue rather than being directed to the standard Creative Cloud installation page.

Sincerely,

A frustrated Adobe customer

I remember being able to download versions through the Creative Cloud interface…
Today, however, the normal download process directs customers toward Creative Cloud installation… [etc.]

I’m not sure how these two supposedly different ways are different from each other.

I wonder if you can describe a specific scenario under which you can’t achieve the desired result using the current installation procedures? Maybe we can suggest a suitable solution.
