I presently have Encore CS6 on one laptop and wanted to have it on my new one. I copied the Adobe Encore CS6 folder and pasted it in my new laptop's Program Files folder. When I click on the Adobe Encore icon in the Adobe Encore CS6 folder I receive this error:

The code execution cannot proceed because mfc100u.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

I have the lastest version of CC on my new laptop.

Specs:

  • Processor

12th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-12700H (24MB Cache, up to 4.7 GHz, 14 cores)

  • Operating System

Windows 11 Pro, English

  • Graphics Card

NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060, 6 GB GDDR6, 60 W

  • Display

16", 3K 3072 x 1920, 60Hz, WVA, Non-Touch, Anti-Glare, 300 nit, ComfortView Plus

  • Memory *

32 GB, 2 x 16 GB, DDR5, 4800 MHz, dual-channel

  • Hard Drive

you mean you have a cs6 serial number.

if you can determine what installer matches that serial number, you may find it using the adobe download links available from prodesigntools.com. https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-direct-download-links.html

follow the directions (esp, step 1)

save the install file.  it may not remain online.

Encore was discontinued several years ago.  Owing to licensing issues with certain partners, Adobe scrapped it and took it off the shelf. If I were you, I would look for a modern replacement.  Also Creative Suite products are on life support.

As well as what has already been said about doing a proper install, my memory of when I used CS6 is that there is no installer for Encore... you install Premiere Pro and Encore is 'bundled' in the install

Thank you for the responses.

I had attempted to use the link on that Stan Jones had provided (Encore CS6 Library Files Missing - May 2019). I downloaded the folder (EncoreContent_en-US), which leads to en-US and folders entitled: Library, main, Styles, support, Template. I guess this was the wrong thing to download since there's no Encore program icon to click on.

I have my CC serial number.  How do I use my original installation media to get Encore?

copying has no chance of succeeding with any non-portable executable.

migrating one computer to another has a chance of success, but not necessarily better than 50-50.

a proper installation to a compatible computer, as previously stated, is likely to succeed.

Sorry, but Adobe apps can't be ported like that.

You need to use your original installation media and do a proper installation, followed by entering your serial number to convert it from the trial.
