Question

Crashing Adobe

Hi...

Whenever I open and Adobe product or try to install my newly purchased Acrobat XI Pro, Windows shuts down (the infamous blue screen), saying that it crashed to avoid damage my computer.  This happens if I try to install, open or delete any Adobe product and does not occur in any other circumstances that I can find.

I have run a complete scan of my hard drive.  That has not helped.

Thanks,

Bud Varty

    Bud,

If it is a blue screen, then you probably running Windows (which version and service pack?). Most crashes are related to virii or device drivers. I'd bet on the later. Turn off any video acceleration.  Try updating your video driver (or rolling back).

BudVarty you may want to start with a selective startup using the Microsoft configuration utility.
