Creative Cloud app suddenly showing "Download Error"

Running on Win7 Pro, the Creative Cloud app no longer lists my apps for updates, but gives a Download Error "Please contact customer support".

I've searched all over and have seen several "fixes" (like deleting OOBE and AAMupdater) but nothing works. I know that I can access Adobe secure server (there's a test link)

I've also tried to raise this in Adobe Support, but there's no option in "What can we help you with?" that leads to Creative Cloud app - and there's no general support option anywhere.

So what can I do now?

When Adobe has you by the short-and-curlies like this, and you're unable to access the updates, it is more than frustrating -  it is very very expensive in time!

I checked on my laptop, and the app worked there fine - I realised that the PC app wasn't showing me logged in.

So I decided to uninstall CC from the PC and reinstall - nope, it won't let me.

Eventually found that there's a CC desktop app uninstaller (trust Adobe to do things differently) - uninstalled it, reinstalled it and it's now working fine.

As a pensioner who does a lot of unpaid work for community and voluntary groups, the new Adobe subscription model costs me 22% of my disposable income - for that I expect better.

Minimum System requirements for Cloud Programs... scroll down and check each program

At least some of the current programs will not run on Win7

Creative Cloud has been working fine for ages ... it has only just started throwing up this error today (it was working fine a couple of weeks ago, and nothing substantive has changed on the computer).

And you say "some of the  current programs will not run on Win7" ... the minimum requirements link says that "All Creative Cloud apps have a minimum operating system requirement of Mac OS X 10.11 and Windows 7,"

So which programs won't run on Win7?
