Creative Cloud broke old Photoshop version.

I bought photoshop. Multiple times. I did not register it when I bought. I do not have serial keys still. I do not have order numbers still. It was a long time ago that I made my purchases. I regularly used photoshop cs5. My product worked fine until adobe creative cloud broke my product. Now I'm being forced to buy a new product if I want something that will still do what I was using photoshop for. After speaking to several people and MANY hours on call, I was hung up on, after even having apologized to the operator I spoke with for if I had seemed upset. Something I bought, from them, has been broken, and I'm expected to buy another? I would like reimbursement for what I had that was broken, or just a new copy of photoshop. That's all.

Do you still have that computer and is CS5 still installed?

I do have the computer, but cs5 is not still installed. Thank you for the link. I'll read through it.

I don't think it's fair to blame Adobe.

I disagree, vehemently, that I'm responsible for a program I paid for being wiped from my pc because I attempted to try their new product. If this was their intent, then it's underhanded as hell, and if it wasn't, they should have made it much more clear. I'll asume responsibility for not having my keys for an easy recovery. I won't assume repsonsibility that my software now NEEDS RECOVERED, because I simply would not NEED MY KEYS if this hadn't happened, nor will I for my software being wiped because I wanted to try their new product. Now I'm expected to assume blame for what their new product did to something I already paid them for and worked fine up until I decided to try a new product? 
If you're trying to state that I should take the blame, you're tragically mistaken, and I fail to see how this could be anyone other than adobe's fault.

So you bought something that you did not register and have no proof of purchase but you want someone to reimburse you? This is like going to the police and saying your car was stolen without any registration or information to prove you ever bought a car in the first place.

 

If you had proof there are ways to reinstall, however, your newer computers may not allow the old version to be installed, but short of that there's nothing anyone can do.

also, for others:

 

having proof of purchase won't help. you need your serial number.

 

if you registered your software with adobe (and you remember your adobe id from that time), you can usually recover your serial number from your adobe account.

 

and none of this helps the op who did not register with adobe.

1. these are user-to-user forums and no one here can help you any more than adobe support. 

2. it's long been known that the cc desktop app takes over all licenses.  that doesn't help you, except to say, we know.

3. for others, the solution is to uninstall everything adobe, clean using adobe's cleaner, restart your computer and then reinstall your cs5, cs5.5 or cs6 software and activate with your serial number.  (@O_Positive, i understand you don't have your serial number, so you cannot be helped. you can repeat your complaints ad infinitum, but the answer's going to be the same.  ie, re-read the above.)

4. even for others, it's only a matter of time that the cs5, cs5.5 and cs6 activation servers will be shut down like the cs2, cs3 and cs4 servers.

Noted. Was just trying to see if anyone had encountered such issues and if there was actually a fix for such a thing.

the issue (cc taking over your perpetual license) is well-known, and there's no legal work-around to using your serial number to reactivate (and therefore use beyond the 30day trial) your cs product.

 

there are some things that can be done to recover a serial number (as noted above), but there's no legal way to circumvent it.
