Creative Cloud CC Applications Won't Launch

Hi,

I tried download the new versions of the Creative Cloud CC version desktop apps today (presumably CC2018?). Upon trying to use any of them, it tells me that the application failed to launch (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and that my OS may be incompatible.

My OS version is Mac OS version 10.12.6, running on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015). 2.2 GHz Intel Core i&, 16GB of memory, Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB.

Can someone advise as to what may be going on?

Thanks!

Hi Jeff,

I located the log file and am seeing some errors and warnings, but I have no clue what they might mean nor what their impact might be on the problems I've been having.

For example:

Thanks NicoleHickman.  Error Code 186 means that the application failed to register.  It typically is ignorable although you are also receiving errors when attempting to open Photoshop CC 2018.

As a next step please try opening Photoshop CC 2018 under a newly created local administrator account NicoleHickman.  Information on how to set up a new account can be found at Install or run Adobe applications in new user account | Mac OS X .

If Photoshop CC 2018 continues to give you the error posted in message #3 then I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling in the new account NicoleHickman.

Details regarding the uninstall process can be found at Uninstall or remove Creative Cloud apps .  In addition, I would also recommend downloading and running the CC Cleaner tool from Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems .  Once both the uninstallers and CC Cleaner tool are run you can then use the process listed in Learn how to download your Adobe Creative Cloud apps to reinstall Photoshop CC 2018.

Please update this discussion if you have any questions NicoleHickman.

NicoleHickman can you confirm if your computer meets all of the system requirements for the most recent releases of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign CC?  You can find links to each of the system requirements for each software title at Adobe Creative Cloud system requirements.

Were you able to install InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator CC successfully under macOS 10.12.6?  It is not immediately clear if the error is occurring when you  are installing the software or opening.  NicoleHickman can you please post a screen shot of the current errors which you are experiencing?  Information on how to post a screen shot can be found at FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video?.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your reply. MacOS 10.12.6 (my current OS) is definitely compatible per the system requirements page you linked me to. Just to be sure, I disabled the virus protection software that was installed on my computer in case that might be the problem, but there was no difference in the result.

The software appears to install successfully, but the problem arises when I go to launch the software. A screenshot of the error is attached. I get the same error with Illustrator and InDesign as well.

Thanks for the confirmation NicoleHickman.  I have a similar Mac available locally and I am able to use Photoshop CC 2018.  The only difference is 2.8 GHz processor.

As a a next step I would recommend reviewing the install log for any errors that could have occurred during the installation process.  Information on how to locate the install log can be found at Creative Cloud download and install errors NicoleHickman.

You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.
