<they are going to put you under a contract and charge your card for a year>

On the 1 year purchase plan, yes.  That's exactly how it works.  It's a 1 year commitment by you to pay the agreed upon price and Adobe to keep providing you with service at that price  -- even if you don't use it.

The month-to-month plan (not available for all products & services) costs more per month but allows you to cancel whenever you like without penalty.

Or put another way, if you buy an iPhone from Apple on a 3 year contract, does Apple care how much you use your phone?  No.  But you still have to pay for 3 years.  That's how contracts work.

And no I don't work for Adobe either.  I'm just a long time product user and satisfied customer.

Sorry you feel so disgruntled about Adobe. But these tools have made photography where it is today. These are tools that Ansel Adams could only imagine and now for only $9.95 per month we can use them. No I do not work for Adobe, but I know the power of these tools and appreciate what they are doing. Sorry for your issues.

As a precaution when I recommend the Photography Plan, I put it as $9.95 a month/Annual commitment.

Same size font and perhaps I should underline that in the future.

I can understand the frustration with the subscription model, but if you stop and do the match, it does mean a savings for the average creative.

That was a very tactful way to say that, John.

No sense being nasty while telling someone who is upset that they missed it
