The day after a recent Adobe updated to a couple of programs and Creative Cloud desktop app, I received an error code 50. After a quick net search, consensus seemed to be to download a CC Uninstaller, run it and then reinstall using CreativeCloudSet-Up.exe. Seemed simple enough... HAD IT WORKED!!

1. Download CC Uninstaller - unzip and run - simple ... NOT!! - I received this message - Uninstallation of Creative Cloud desktop complete with errors

Ok not having done this before I was a little sceptical at this point, although kept going as I figured it was too late to turn back now -

2. Reinstall using CreativeCloudSet-Up.exe - download and run - simple ... NOT!! - I received this message - CC desktop failed to install. (Error code 50)

Now a little more than annoyed I downloaded yet another recommended adobe tool - Adobe CC Cleaner Tool

3. Download Adobe CC Cleaner Tool - choose options and run - I received this message - Adobe CC Cleaner Tool completed successfully

After a small celebration I tried again to install Creative Cloud Desktop ... and guess what message I received - CC desktop failed to install. (Error code 50)

I have read comments where people have to remove the whole suite in order to fix this problem and seen comments, with regard to error 50, going back years.. surely some 'genius' at adobe has figured out the solution by now... isn't that why they get paid the big bucks.

I am at a loss how to get the CC desktop back on my computer and working so I can get some work done.. been trying to correct issue for almost a week.. please help if you have any solutions. Cheers.

Troib38278099 I am sorry that you continue to receive Error 50 when attempting to update the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application.  What operating system are you attempting to install the update to Creative Cloud desktop app on?

For information on how to resolve this error please see "Failed to install" error received when installing Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app.  In specific, Troib38278099. please step 3 in Solution 2 for information on how to locate and remove the OOBE folder.

If you continue to face errors then please proceed to Solution 3 and create a new local administrator account.  If you have any questions regarding any of the solutions listed then please update this discussion Troib38278099.

An automatic update just attempted and I got a Error code 50 which brings me here.  Is there a number to call and get help walking through what to do?  I am not a computer person to know how to walk the steps that I see here.  I don't want CC to wreck my photos and my computer.

I have found that the directory c:\\program file (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud is locked and all methods to gain access have failed. I run as administrator. Since this folder seems to be use in the install, that is why it fails.

I've never had a folder locked that I could not reset and access ... until now. I'm not sure how Adobe did it. It's like ransomware!

Terrible.

Same for me Let me guess, you have a creative cloud.exe in that folder you can't delete because you have no rights for that?
