Creative Cloud Download Error

Today, my Illustrator would not open, apparently due to an update error. I checked the Creative Cloud App, and when I clicked the apps tab, It read, "Download Error, please contact customer service." I found someone on here who said that reinstalling creative cloud worked, so I went through the process of uninstalling and reinstalling the app, hoping it was just a simple case of corruption. No dice, I'm still getting the same message. I've done an inventory and of the apps I have installed only Photoshop is opening, presumably because it was the only one able to update before this whole idiocy started. Everything else, including Adobe Acrobat, which I very much need, are not working.

Please tell me someone has a suggestion on how to fix this mess?

Well, progress of a sort, anyway.

This discussion thread suggests a couple of possible solution for the error you're now getting: Creative Cloud - Please close all instances of Adobe Application Manager to continue.

Let us know how it goes!

Does it look like this?

If so, remove the OOBE and AAMUpdater folders per the instructions here: Download error in Apps tab of Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application.

Sadly no. Here's a snip of what I got, probably should have included this in the original topic, my apologies. I'll try your fix nonetheless though, and see if it works.
