Creative Cloud Installation Fails on macOS Tahoe 26.1 (Error Code: 1)

Hello Adobe Support

I am unable to install or use any Adobe Creative Cloud applications on my Mac running macOS Tahoe 26.1. Only Adobe PDF Creator works — all other Adobe apps and the Creative Cloud Desktop App fail to install or launch.

When I try to install Creative Cloud, I always get the following error:

“Creative Cloud installation failed. An error occurred, and the application could not be installed. (Error code: 1)”

I have already tried the following steps without success:

  • Running the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool

  • Deleting all Adobe folders in Library and Application Support

  • Removing LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons

  • Rebooting the system

  • Redownloading the installer

  • Running the installer through Terminal

  • Allowing the installer through macOS security (Gatekeeper)

  • Trying the patch installer from Adobe Help Center

The error persists every time.

It seems that Creative Cloud Desktop and all Adobe applications (except Adobe PDF Creator) are not working on macOS Tahoe 26.1.

Could you please provide assistance or a compatible installer for macOS Tahoe?

Thank you very much.

Hi @ali_1537,

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the inconvenience. Based on your query, it seems you are facing issues installing Creative Cloud apps on the latest macOS Tahoe 26.1 and are receiving an error when trying to install the Creative Cloud Desktop app. Please confirm if this is the issue you need assistance with.

As you have already tried several steps, please try the additional troubleshooting steps below:

Since you have used the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool before, I recommend running it again. After that, restart your Mac, then check the following locations and remove any leftover Adobe folders:

Remove these folders from both ~/Library and /Library:

Application Support/Adobe
Application Support/com.adobe.*
Caches/Adobe
Caches/com.adobe.*
Preferences/com.adobe.*
LaunchAgents/com.adobe.*
LaunchDaemons/com.adobe.*

Once done, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.

Next, ensure that macOS is not blocking Adobe processes:

Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access → add “Adobe Creative Cloud” and “Adobe Installer” (if listed), and enable them.

Additionally, please run First Aid on your main volume through Disk Utility.

After completing these steps, try reinstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop app using a fresh installer. You can download it by signing in here:

Click on your profile and download the installer from there.

If the issue persists, please try the following:

Create a new admin user on your Mac: System Settings → Users & Groups → Add User (Administrator).
Log in with this new user account, run the Cleaner Tool again, restart the device, and then try installing the Creative Cloud Desktop app. This helps resolve profile-level corruption.

If the issue continues after trying all the steps above, please share the PDApp log so we can investigate further. Instructions for retrieving the log can be found here:

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Regards,
^AN
