Creative Cloud Installer error P205

I have disabled my antivirus/firewall etc. Installed creative cloud - No problems. It then wants to update and falls over at 7%, sometimes with error p205. I have tried safe mode (Win 7 64 sp1) to no avail. I really could use some help.

confirm that you can connect to the secure adobe servers by reading, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html

do you see both logos?

if you can and still see a connection error, white list the adobe network endpoints, https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/network-endpoints.html

I can see both logos. The trouble is that when I double click on cc installer icon on my desktop it tries to update and sticks at 7%. If I try to download lightroom classic directly cc installer tries to update and fails and sticks at 7%. Since cc installer insists on updating I cannot use it and I am unable to download the software I have subscribed to. It is very frustrating.

Initially I had an error message saying that MSVCP50.dll was missing. I obtained a copy of the file I put it in the correct folder and that error message disappeared. By disabling my Norton security I was able to install the cc installer. When it immediately tried update it would start and then stop at 7% saying there was a problem. Hitting retry made no difference.

I tried to run the installer in safe mode with Norton disabled. I thought it appeared to download the update but it made no difference. It still wanted to update.

What am I missing?
