Creative Cloud Update will not download?

I have been trying to download the "Creative_Cloud Update" on 6 programs for over a week now.  Originally, I was advised that I had to update by 5/15/13.  I keep getting the same error message:  "Creative Cloud Connection Update- Please close the following applications to continue. - Adobe Creative Cloud Connection (Creative Cloud Connection.exe). Choices are to Cancel Update or Retry.  I keep hitting retry.   I do not have any applications or connections open, just the Adobe_Application_Manager;  where I am told to do the update.  Today is now the 16th,  what is the problem and can I still install the update?
