I am the original purchaser and single user. I may have a few old Photoshop and Illustrator projects. Can those be opened in a current Creative Cloud version?

Current software can open most older PSD & AI files. But depending on what features & plugins were used, it might not work for all of them. Software has changed a lot in 20 years.

The Recycle bin is your friend. Toss the disks and manuals.

Even if you had a compatible machine, you can’t activate dead software. CS2 is dead.

if you have a current subscription older versions will be taken over by your cc subscription.  if/when your subscription ends those older apps will no longer be usable.  ie, be careful and explain exactly what you have and what you want.
