@Arnaud Mélon & @Rajashree Bhattachary So I'm also struggling with this issue, as my original copy of CS3 has had the reactivation issue. Spoke with three different adobe agents via a chat call, and received no solution to the problem. The first agent gave me a link to uninstall and reinstall photoshop with a new serial number... which didnt work the way he said it would. This photoshop is still asking for a serial number and says its a trial version. I've used the serial number given to me by the link to request a new number as well as a fresh version of CS3... Which this new version says is invalid...

I've located the host file, removed it from its folder so i could edit it, then replaced the copy in the folder with the now edited one.. but nothing has changed and still PS says its a trial program that requires a serial number. Please help, I havent been able to work in over a week because of this issue

Allenf63390995 you are correct that the cache.db is the likely cause of your current error.  You can find instructions for macOS and Windows at Resolve "temporary activation expired" error for CS3 and Acrobat 8 .

I got that from the First agent I got in contact with. Thats the version that Still isnt working. From what I've learned since I made my first comment here, is that the issue may be with the cache file that isnt deleted during the uninstall. Do you know how I may be able to access that on a mac? I've been finding instructions for a PC... but... i dont have a PC

[Moderator branched to new discussion --  Creative Suite 3 serial number -  and moved from Adobe Creative Cloud to Creative Suites forum.

Please see the correct answer in this related thread for details on obtaining a replacement CS3 installer and new serial number that does not require activation.

    Re-activating CS3 (Updated)

For best results, you need to unnistall your old CS3 before you attempt to install the replacement version.
