To clarify terms of your license, it's not a forever license.  You're using discontinued & unsupported software from 12 years ago.  At some point, it will stop working on new systems.  Adobe doesn't support old products beyond their end date.  Nobody does that.

My advice is to keep an old computer to support old software and don't upgrade it.  Or buy modern software that's compatible with newer devices.

MODERN OPTIONS:
Photoshop Elements or Premier Elements (approx $100, no subscription needed).

Creative Cloud Photography Plan (approx $10/month for 12 months). Includes the following:

    • Photoshop CC and Photoshop on iPad
    • Lightroom on desktop, mobile and the web
    • Lightroom Classic
    • Portfolio website + hosting
    • Creative Cloud Express (free starter plan)
    • Bridge
    • 20 GB cloud storage (upgradable to 1 TB).

Creative Cloud Express Premium ($10/month).

    • Creative Cloud Express app (web and mobile)
    • Premiere Rush (desktop and mobile)
    • Photoshop Express (mobile)
    • Spark Video (mobile)
    • Spark Page (mobile)
    • Adobe Portfolio + 100 GB of cloud storage
    • All premium templates and design assets including the entire collection of over 160 million royalty-free Adobe Stock photo collection.

the program provided is the same one you purchased.  ie, nothing in cs6 has changed in the decade since adobe last updated cs6.  (in particular, parts of that suite were never 32 bit.)

on the other hand, your hardware may have changed (and that can be problematic), but generally, your os, windows is forgiving and will (with some knowledge and effort) allow installation of older programs.

bottomline: learn how to use compatibility mode with windows and install the original cs6 from 10 years ago.

here's what you need to use compatibility mode, Adobe Creative Suite 6 system requirements

CS6 is from 2012 and has not, and will not be, updated

Regular Windows will run 32bit programs, I don't know the Ultimate version

You might ask Microsoft about using 32bit programs with Win7 Ultimate

Go to the Search bar at the top of http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/ to find information
