Creative Suite 6 Master Collection Updates for Mac OS (German)

Hi Community

I write you because Adobe expects that the community needs to solve Adobe problems they produce out of thin air.

I just bought a Mac Pro 2013 to run my old software/projects and check all the forum entrys to find updates for CS 6 because there are no downloadables on adobe.com. The installers i can download from my adobe account have no updates included. I have already a lot of updaters/patchers, but a lot of them say they dont work with my version. I cant understand why.

Where can I find all updates of the Products for the German Creative Suite 6 Master Collection Mac OS version?

Adobe, I will never find trust in you anymore.

Maxon removed also the old content and legacy Cinema 4D Versions. What i still think is stupid. But  I got all Installers, Updates, Content just by asking them if I can have it. Adobe should really do the same.

Thanks in advance.

Would be nice to read from you some positiv lines.

I had to double-check the date of this post. 😮  Hopefully, you can get your money back.

CS6 was built in 2012. The last updates rolled out around the same year. CS6 hasn't been updated since. Updates were only available from the application's help menu. But those aged-out servers were probably retired from service. That's the risk with old technologies, they get old & break beyond repair.

Meanwhile, Macs have changed a lot. CS6 hasn't been usable on a Mac since Catalina came out. AFAIK, Sierra, High Sierra and Mojave are not available anymore, are they?

Current Adobe products work on these systems:

  • Windows 11 (64-bit) versions 24H2, 23H2; Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2;
  • MacOS 15 (Sequoia), 14.7 (Sonoma), 13.6.7 (Ventura).

NOTE: MS is ending Win10 in October. Apple will be releasing Tahoe later this year.

Hope that helps.

Microsoft has also made changes that rendered old programs unworkable... at one time I had a version of MS Office that did everything I wanted... Microsoft made changes to Windows that 'killed' my version of Office... so I had to buy a new version (at least the new version would read the old files, so I didn't lose any work)

It is uncomfortable for users, but due to security threats changes do have to be made

I still run Office 97 on my Windows 11 machine at home. It does everything I need from Office. I still disabled Clippy, though.

Thanks for posting your question, Ronny. The majority of the updates for Creative Suite 6 were only available through the automatic update process. From your post, you have already followed the steps https://adobe.ly/4mdhBT3 to download the base installers for Creative Suite 6 from your account on https://adobe.ly/41biwuS.

Once the software is installed and updated, you can then launch any of the applications and check for updates to receive any available updates. Due to updates in Adobe security infrastructure, however, you may have a difficult time gaining permission to receive those updates if the computer is old enough to run Creative Suite 6. You can find more information about the updates that were implemented in 2024 at https://adobe.ly/45jXjBj. Acrobat uses a separate updater, so make sure to check for updates separately from Photoshop, Premiere, or After Effects.

Ronny, you can try following the advice offered in https://adobe.ly/45jXjBj to update the computer to complete the activation and update process. You will want to update the Mac Pro to the latest version of Mac OS that it can run. If you are unable to obtain the auto updates, then you may need to settle for the base versions or look for a new creative solution in 2025. You would miss out on the HighDPI update for Photoshop CS6, so I hope you are successful, Ronny. ^JW

The in-app updater no longer works, at least for me. I suspect Adobe is fully aware of this and is doing it on purpose.

I assure you, I will never buy an Adobe product again. A company that treats customers like this, has no place in my world.

We did have to implement several security updates that will prevent older computers from contacting our servers, Ronny. You can find more information on the updates that were executed at https://adobe.ly/4mGSckn. ^JW
