Question

Creative Suite CS6 reinstall

I know it's old, but I'd like to reinstall Creative Suite CS6 on another computer. Two problems:

(1) When I try to install, the installation program tells me that my serial number has been disabled. WHY? HOW?

(2) I wanted to disable the old version, by my old computer has internet problems, so I can't. On the other hand, my Adobe account lists the software but no activated devices.

Any ideas, especially re (1)?! Many thanks!

Two people asking questions in the same message can get confusing

CC-papillon asked about a serial number that has been disabled

davidt93231056 said there is no download

I replied to davidt93231056 with a possible way to download, I did NOT reply to CC-papillon

Who did you purchase your legacy software from?  If it was a third party vendor, you'll need to contact them about your license, assuming they are still in business.  CS6 is 10+ years old now.

Sadly, some vendors illegally sold licenses to multiple users.  When Adobe found out, they disconnected those serial numbers to stop the bleeding.   In such cases, you have no recourse except to buy new software.

if you use the wrong adobe id associated with that serial number, you'll see that error.

then, if you purchased from or registered with adobe, adobe support might (or might not), tell you the problem.

use a browser that allows popups and cookies and contact adobe support by clicking here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human

p.s you can also use phone (but chat is usually quicker), https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html

p.p.s. you can also use twitter to tweet @AdobeCare

p.p.p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam, https://community.adobe.com/t5/using-the-community-discussions/staying-safe-in-the-adobe-support-community/td-p/12919684/redirect_from_archived_page/true
