Crop Undo in CC 20.0.7 not functioning

Since the most recent update the 'UNDO' button associated with cropping does not function. Since I am not discarding the cropped areas, I can still recover, but I need to go back into the history and begin again, or just click as if to crop again and escape out of it. Not a crisis but an irritant. Any ideas about what is happening here?

Which Adobe program is this in reference to.

Thanks for the response I am using Photoshop CC 21.0.0. In working with it some more, I see that if I press the "Undo" icon, there is no visual change on the screen. If I click again on the image, the cropped area and the full image  (faded out) is there and pressing "Esc" reverts back to the original image. I just seem to recall that prior to this, pressing the icon took me directly back to the image as it was before cropping.
