CS3 and Windows 8.1

Will CS3 load on Windows 8.1?  I'm seeing mixed reports around the internet and I can't tell if the fails are because people just don't know how to install software or if there really are technical issues.  I honestly can't imagine there should be a problem.  I'm looking at the requirements at this link....  System requirements | InDesign

It doesn't mention Windows 7 and I haven't had any trouble getting it to work in Windows 7.

Thanks.....Anyone know what I can expect with Windows 10?  The laptop I'm looking at will have a free upgrade for Windows 10 when I comes out.

Why can't Adobe just make an official statement that it works with Windows 8 with compatibility mode?

same reason other companies don't test out-dated products:  it takes time, costs money and has no compensatory benefit to the company.

and you'll get more info about win 10 compatibilities on a win 10 forum.

Yeah, but for the 1000s we spend you would think Adobe might show some consideration for the little guy.  We can't afford to spend 1000s every time they come out with new software.  And we can't afford to upgrade computers and 1000s worth of software at the same time.

I'm not asking for Adobe to do a full round of testing.  All I'm looking for is some official statement saying the software seems to work in 8.1 and seems like it will work in 10 but you have to use compatibility.  And they can add a disclaimer that they have not fully tested and can't fully support.  But at least then I'd have better information to make a decision.

Adobe.....you need a competitor and I hope you find one soon.
