CS3 setup error MacBook Pro

Been running CS3 on my MacbookPro/El Capitan 10.11.6 since I bought it last March. No problems.

Two days ago I got an error message on startup.

"CoreTelephony Trace File Error

Error opening file /tmp/ct.shutdown, err = Operation not permitted"

At the same time none of my Adobe apps would launch and stay open. They would launch then just crash and quit. "unexpected quit" error.

(apps I use acrobat, ai, ps and indesign)

OK so I solved the "core telephoney" problem and eliminated the error but I still can not could not use Adobe software. I have since uninstalled it, (intending to do a full new install) but my mac will not even allow me to do this.

When I select the setup on the disc, I get a error message:

"Installer Alert-

Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance."

Any ideas?

even though your error message may not seem related to the issue discussed in this link, try it:

    http://mac-how-to.wonderhowto.com/how-to/open-third-party-apps-from-unidentified-developers-mac-os-x-0158095/

    if that fails,

    uninstall cs3

clean per Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

    restart your computer

    retry installing.

tried these. As well as turning off the firewall while trying to reinstall. Didn't help.

Also tried different DVD drive, a long shot but I tried it and it didn't help either.
