I have been trying to download CS4 on my laptop and keep getting:

"Setup Error - Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance."

I am only finding that forums are available for assistance, but unable to find something that helps. Wondering if anyone has any guidance.

Processor: 2.6GHz

RAM: 4.00 GB

System type: 64-bit

Thank you!

if you have a legal copy of cs4 you won't be able to use beyond 30 days because cs4 is no longer able to be activated.

On my system the issue was a folder juntion. And after moving the setup folder to a new clean c: root folder it all worked fine.

Downloading is what you do to get a file from an Internet site to your computer... Installing is what you do to have install files put a program on your computer and link it to your operating system... what are you doing... downloading, or installing?

    Exactly which operating system?

    If Windows

Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL permissions may help... says Encore, but sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account)

-also RIGHT click the EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

I am installing when I get the error message.

    Operating system: Windows 7

And could you tell me more about the 'Encore'. I am not following....

    Thank you!!
