I am trying to transfer CS4 to a newer MAC. I keep getting an error message saying now it is saying system of the SETUP volume is not supported! HELP! As I paid a lot of money for this suite.

CS4 is VERY old, El Capitan/Sierra are VERY new

Adobe does not go back and update old programs for new operating systems

As I said before... the reason your old program will not install/run is because Apple made changes

And FYI... Microsoft did the same thing, and all under their own control... The perfectly good MS Office 97 I owned stopped working (would not even install) when I moved from a WinXP computer to a Win7 computer... Microsoft had TOTAL control over their own products (unlike here, where Adobe has NO control over Apple's operating system) and I was forced to buy MS Office again to be able to use it... So if you want to blame someone for your program not working, contact Apple

For Mac El Capitan or the newer Sierra operating system read below

Owners of old programs simply have problems with Mac El Capitan/Sierra... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Apple changed their operating system and THAT is why your old programs won't work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Apple issues an update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

As I am not happy about the end result of the situation, I do thank you for the response. It was very helpful. I would imagine this would be one of the reasons Adobe has switched to cloud services instead of CD Rom.
