CS4 usable after trial CC?

I am in the middle of the trial version of CC. When I attempt to open my CS4 programs (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.), I receive an error message. Will I be able to use CS4 again if I decide not to subscribe to CC? Will files created in CC be usable with CS4? Do I actually "uninstall" CC?

    Rww0001 the Creative Cloud versions of our software should not interfere with your CS4 installation.  I would be more concerned that you were running CS4 on an operating system to meet the system requirements for Creative Cloud.

    What specific error are you receiving?  Also which operating system are you using?
