CS5 serial number question

I upgraded my Mac to OS X El Capitan and had problems. Apple tech got involved and ultimately I had to reformate my HD and reinstall my OSX.  I had to reinstall CS5 from my original disk but Adobe now does not recognize my serial number.  This is the same serial number that I used to register the product in 2011 and it is the serial number that show up under my account on Adobe’s website.

Any advice?

I have fixed the problem.  I had to total uninstall all of CS5 programs and the reinstall.  Now at least Photoshop works.

This information is a MUST DO to install old programs on Mac El Capitan

-you may not get the same error message, but these two links will help with old programs

Install CS5 on Mac 10.11 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2003455 may help (also for other than CS5)

-also a TEMPORARY security change https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2039319

This did not work. When I enter the serial number in the activation screen I get the error message that the S/N is not valid for this product. Any other ideas. Is there a way to get Adobe involved?
