CS5 stopped working on Mac [Catalina]

Hello,

I have all CS5 software, officially with the correct code. Except that nothing works anymore!

I work on Mac and since the last updates, nothing works. A priori, my software is too old?

Thank you for helping me, I need it! Can't afford the latest version of Adobe! I have CS4 and CS5 and it suits me very well!

Creative Suite is 32-bit software.  Support for 32-bit software ended with Mojave.  Surely you saw the Apple warnings about this.

 

Revert to a previous OS and never upgrade your computer again.  Obviously that's not practical for security reasons.  But it might work on a 2nd computer or virtual machine.

Alternatively, you must buy new software or get a paid Creative Cloud plan.

"Creative Suite is 32-bit software.  Support for 32-bit software ended with Mojave.  " This is true, and important. But it is the only detail the press have reported, and is not really the most important point. Apple insist that all apps in Catalina be "notarized". This is a process invented about a year before Catalina, so simple to say "no old apps". Otherwise it invites debate about why 64-bit apps like Photoshop CS6 can't install in Catalina. (Also, Notarization is checked on install only, so an old 64-bit app can be inherited on upgrade, but can never be reinstalled. Ick).

    I know, I know.  And not to mention what Apple did to file management. I figure if a product user can't check compatibility before upgrading, then the rest of this geeky stuff is way above their heads so I don't even go there.

      If you upgrade to Catalina you need to budget for all new apps. All part of the Joy Of Mac. Happily, the CS apps are now available for a more affordable monthly fee- which includes updates for Apple’s next attack....
