Question

CS6 Application manager prompted for an update.

I started the update but it went into an endless loop. Ended up restarting the Win 7 pc. Now the icon shows as Creative Cloud not Application Manager. We did not subscribe to CC. Programs seem to be working albeit the printing seems to be slow. How do I get back to the old icon? Do I really need to get back to the old icon?

Jeffh15375482 to downgrade the Adobe Application Manager you will want to remove all installed Adobe Creative applications.  When you reinstall the proper version of the Adobe Application Manager will be installed.

If you need a fresh copy of the retail Creative Suite 6 installation files they are available at https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html.

Will it hurt anything if I leave it as it is?

Jeffh15375482 it is likely you will be prompted to validate a Creative Cloud membership.  I would strongly recommend removing the installed Adobe Creative software and reinstalling so you are using a version appropriate to the Adobe Creative software you have installed.
