CS6 Installer tells me to choose a different volume but does not provide a way.
I'm trying to install CS6 (trial) that I downloaded earlier today. I'm on a Mac Pro, have a boot disk that is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and an Xsan array that is formatted XSAN, which is a case sensitive format. My user account is on the Xsan.
When I double click on the Install application I get an immediate error message that says:
We've encountered the following issues.
Installation on case-sensitive volumes is not supported. Please choose a
different volume for installation.
But of course there is only a Quit button on this box and no way to choose a different volume.
I would say the error is that Adobe is checking the case sensitive-ness of the wrong volume and not providing a way for the user to correct Adobe's mistake.
Why wouldn't they be checking the boot disk? That is typically where applications are installed. And how could they have missed a programmatic dead-end immediately after launching the installer. No testing at all?
Thanks for any help that you can provide.
